World Innovation premiere - Continuous broadband toxicity in water bodies

AppliTek is proud to announce the worldwide launch of VibrioTox® on-line continuous broadband toxicity monitor
The water infrastructure in the world is vulnerable to accidental impacts as well as purposeful attack. Contamination that causes the long-term shut down of a major segment of water supply can result not only in economic losses in the community, but health problems for the public.
Utilities, depending upon the assessment of risk reduction, may find it appropriate to establish monitoring systems capable of detecting contaminants in the water to mount an appropriate response that would protect the public health and safety and help manage the complex risks that are related to contamination. AppliTek believes its all-new VibrioTox® broadband biological toxicity monitor will greatly contribute to protect public health and safety and help manage the complex risks. AppliTek other toxicity analyzer the Ra-TOX® can be a relevant addition in some applications, as well as its EPA/UPA/EnviroLyzer series of analyzers.
The VibrioTox® is a true on-line and continuous 24/7 broadband toxicity monitor. This genuine on-line system deploys light emitting bacteria; Vibrio Fischeri. Planktonic Vibrio Fischeri are found in very low quantities (almost undetectable) in almost all oceans of the world, preferentially found in temperate and sub-tropical waters. It has no negative impact on the environment and is 100% safe to use. It is an ideal instrument for toxcontrol.
By using these living organisms AppliTek has now an instrument that can reliably monitor for the biological impact (and not just the chemical impact) of contamination on water bodies. Our VibrioTox® uses the proven and validated Vibrio Fischeri bacterium that emits light when in a sound condition. A decrease in light output means that the bacteria are being intoxicated.
The luminescent bacteria continuous monitoring method used in the VibrioTox® has been validated and authorized by NEN, EN and ISO, as a Water Quality-Determination of the Inhibitory Effect of Water Samples on the Light Emission of Vibrio fischeri. It features many advantages compared to others, mainly the total cost of ownership and the consumption of consumables.
