EZ-Bleach | Sodium Compounds in NaOCl

EZ-BLEACH®

On-line Analyzer System for Sodium Compounds in NaOCl

EZ-BLEACH® on-line analyzer system for the determination of sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), sodium carbonate (Na2CO3), sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and sodium chloride (NaCl) in sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl)

  • Monitor reactor sodium hydroxide (NaOH) concentration: starting from 20% - min. 4 to 6%
  • Monitor hypochlorite or bleach (NaOCl) concentration:  max. 170g/l NaOCl
  • Monitor sodium chloride (NaCl): 1 – 30g/kg NaCl
  • Monitor sodium carbonate (Na2CO3): 1 – 10g/kg Na2CO3

Description

Absorption of chlorine in sodium hydroxide for chlorine destruction and production of sodium hypochlorite or bleach (NaOCl)

2 NaOH + Cl2 → NaOCl + NaCl + H2O

In case of excess sodium hydroxide consumption the sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) will be decomposed:

@pH 8              NaOCl → NaCl + ½ O2          DANGER Gas production Ph T°h

@pH 9 – 10    3 NaClO → 2NaCl + NaClO3
