On-line Monitoring of Cyanide Leaching
Mining industry
Cyanide leaching is most common in processing gold and silver ores and brings the ore in contact with a specific cyanide solution that will dissolve the desired mineral from its host rock. The precious metals are recovered from the solution by adsorption onto activated carbon, which is then separated from the leached pulp.
Current plant processes could improve the gold recovery by means of:
- Process optimisation (general)
- On-line monitoring and control
Measurement of the pH of the alkaline leaching solution has become a standard procedure in tank leaching. On top of that, AppliTek provides wet-chemical process analyzers measuring the actual chemical parameters of the leaching process liquids. Data exchange and supervison tools are standard features. A wide range of options, add-ons and turnkey solutions complement the state of the art design of the analyzers.
Feasible parameters
Free cyanide - Sodium cyanide - Silver - Gold
Other: Bromine - Chlorine
