On-line monitoring of organics made by means of Total Organic Carbon (TOC) is usually understood to be one of the best and most reliable methods available for the management of waste water treatment and drinking water production. The AppliTOC® On-line TOC Analyzer is a versatile analytical platform The technology as incorporated in the AppliTOC® is the well established UV persulphate method assuring full compliance with international standard methods. In contrast with the high temperature combustion method (either with or without catalyst), the UV persulfate method is a true continuous TOC analysis technique. On top of that, experiments have shown that the oxidation efficiency is similar to that of high temperature systems. The on-line analyser has been field-tested for many years in a wide range of applications and environments.
The AppliTOC® On-line TOC Analyzer is available in several configurations; Total Organic Carbon (standard), Total Carbon, Total Inorganic Carbon. A special configuration with two separate IR detectors is available for measuring “true” Total Organic Carbon. Measuring “true” TOC includes the volatile and purgeable organic carbon that are stripped out prior to analysis. Please contact us for this possibility.
Ultrafiltration and microfiltration may be necessary to optimize the sample prior to the analysis stage. Poor solubility of some chemical compounds is another issue for sample pretreatment and can lead to erratic analysis results.
