VibrioTox®
On-line Broadband Toxicity analyzer
The VibrioTox® is a true on-line and continuous 24/7 broadband toxicity monitor. This genuine on-line system deploys the light emitting bacteria Vibrio Fischeri. Planktonic Vibrio Fischeri are found in very low quantities in almost all oceans of the world, preferentially found in temperate and sub-tropical waters. By using these living organisms AppliTek was able to develop a unique instrument that can reliably monitor the biological impact of contamination on water bodies. The Vibrio Fischeri bacterium emits light when in a sound condition. VibrioTox® samples continuously the water body and brings the water sample for a fixed amount of time in contact with the bacteria culture. A decrease in light output means that the bacteria are being intoxicated, which is processed by the incorporated software.
Early Warning System: the VibrioTox® on-line analyzer is set up to detect more than 2,500 toxins but can basically respond to any possible contaminant both organic or inorganic, metals and metal compounds.

General features
Analysis method compliant with standard methods for detection and measurement of toxicity in water
Human interface: 5.7" color touch screen with function buttons. Toxicity is expressed as % INHIBITION, either as a graph or as values. Can remotely be taken over by LAN ethernet software (VNC).

Compliance
The luminescent bacteria method used in the VibrioTox® has been validated and authorized by NEN, EN and ISO, as a Water Quality-Determination of the Inhibitory Effect of Water Samples on the Light Emission of Vibrio Fischeri.
