AppliTek CEO paid tribute to the Chinese Labour Corps on Dec. 10, 2014 in the city of Ieper, Belgium, in presence of the Governor of West Flanders, the Deputy Ambassdor of China to Belgium Mr. Zhuo, the Vice Mayor of Ieper, e.a.

Picture courtesy of Singtao Daily (c) 2014 – Eric Van Eemeren (c) A wreath commemorating the Chinese Labour Corps was set at the Menin Gate in Ypres by the Governor and Mr. Zhuo Ruisheng. The Chinese Labour Corps was a force of workers recruited by the British & French governments in World War I to perform support work and manual labour. In all, some 140,000 Chinese men served for both British, French & Belgian forces before the war ended and most of the men were repatriated to China between 1918 and 1920.Nevertheless, 20,000 Chinese men lost their lives in Europe.
